Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Driller Assistant in Kansas City, KS to support soil drilling, rock coring, sampling, and well installation monitoring. You will assist the Driller with equipment, site setup, and sample handling in a field environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to travel up to 60%.
• Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to discern sound.
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold.
• Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights.
• Ability to work overnight hours and off shift.

Responsibilities

• Assist Driller to load/unload augers and assemble/disassemble augers.
• Prepare tooling and supplies for the day’s tasks.
• Assist with the location of boring locations.
• Retrieve and log samples.
• Clean/maintain equipment and perform site cleanup.
