Job summary

Intertek PSI in Kansas City, KS is seeking a Driller Assistant to support drilling, sampling, and site operations. The role involves assisting with loading, tooling preparation, location planning, sampling, and equipment maintenance on-site.

Candidates should be capable of heavy lifting, long hours, and outdoor work; travel up to 60% is required. CDL is preferred, and comprehensive benefits are offered through Intertek.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to travel up to 60%.
• Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make discriminations in sound.
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
• Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights.
• Ability to work overnight hours and off shift.

Responsibilities

• Assist Driller to load / unload augers and assemble / disassemble augers.
• Prepare tooling and supplies for the day’s tasks.
• Assist with the location of boring locations.
• Retrieve and log samples.
• Clean / maintain equipment and perform site clean up.
