Job summary

The Walsh Group, Ltd. is seeking an experienced Drill Operator in Asheville, NC to operate drilling equipment on highway and heavy civil construction projects.

You will load, drill, and maintain boreholes, and support crew with on-site tasks while following safety policies and site procedures. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work in varied weather, pass pre-employment drug screening, and communicate effectively with team.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of operating experience preferred.
• Ability to climb and balance on scaffold/ladder.
• Lift up to 50 lbs; work in adverse weather conditions.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Need to comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Good manual dexterity; may stand, bend, kneel or sit for long periods.
• Strong work ethic and desire to learn.

Responsibilities

• Operates a Drilling Machine to complete tasks such as drilling rock and other materials; starts/stops portable air compressors.
• Follows loading/unloading procedures for materials and equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance checks and basic servicing on equipment; completes required paperwork.
• May experience vibrations and loud noises; maintains safety around operating gear.
• Performs other related duties as required.
