Job summary

The Walsh Group is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in Asheville, NC to operate a range of heavy equipment at the transportation site (TSENC/I-26 Downtown Connector). The role reports to the Transportation division and involves performing site tasks, maintaining safety standards, and assisting with adjacent duties as needed on a full-time basis.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of operating experience, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment on highway/ civil construction sites.
• Follow safety policies and procedures during operations.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of Equipment to complete tasks such as clearing land, trimming backfill, and to move and/or transport materials such as dirt, rocks, and other types of aggregate.
• Must have knowledge of operating procedures as it pertains to loading and unloading materials.
• May oil, grease, service, and make maintenance adjustments on equipment; conducts daily safety and maintenance checks; documents as required.
• May experience vibration/noise from equipment during operation.
• May perform other related duties as required.
