Job summary

R1 RCM Inc. is seeking a DRG Associate Auditor (Analyst) to validate coding updates that affect diagnosis-related groups on claims and drive education for clients.

You will use evidence-based rationale and industry references to support findings and pre-screen opportunities for the DRG Validation Auditing Team. The role requires recent acute inpatient coding experience, an AHIMA credential (RHIA, RHIT, or CCS), and proficiency with EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, and Meditech.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Four or more years of ICD-10 coding and DRG reimbursement experience, including recent acute inpatient coding experience.
• Current AHIMA credential (RHIA, RHIT, or CCS).
• Experience with multiple EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Validate coding updates impacting DRG on claims and potential reimbursement or education for the client.
• Provide detailed rationale and supporting evidence for recommendations.
• Use industry references to support findings.
• Audit a specific rule set and pre-screen opportunities for the DRG Validation Auditing Team.
