Responsibilities

  • Operate a motorboat safely to reach the dredge.
  • Inspect and lubricate dredge parts before and during operation.
  • Fill out daily inspection sheets.
  • Position dredge with hydraulic swing winches.
  • Prime main pump and check packing on pumps.
  • Monitor gauges and communicate with plant operator.
  • Detect equipment malfunctions and communicate issues.
  • Use skid-loader and/or loader around plant and dredge.
  • Inform personnel of any problems and plant status.

Skills

Ability to occasionally lift/move between 25-50 pounds

Education

High School Diploma or GED
Previous experience operating heavy equipment
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Job Summary

Primary responsibility for this role is to operate a mechanical dredge to produce sand products. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Consistent and reliable attendance is required. $2500.00 HIRING BONUS!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Operate a motorboat in a safe manner to be able to get to and from the dredge.
  • Inspect and lubricate all moving parts of the dredge before operation begins and during dredging. Secure dredge upon completion of shift.
  • Fill out daily inspection sheets.
  • Position dredge with hydraulic swing winches to start and again during dredging.
  • Prime main pump, check packing on pumps and adjust as needed.
  • Monitor all gauges, communicate with plant operator to keep the best load possible going to the plant without overloading the plant.
  • Observe and listen to operation of equipment to detect malfunctions. Communicate with Plant Operator and/or Plant Leadman before making adjustments and repairs, if needed.
  • As needed, use a skid‑loader and/or loader to work around the plant and dredge.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of any problems and assure the next shift operator is informed of plant status.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
