Job summary

Steam Logistics is a Chattanooga-based, fast-growing 3PL focused on international freight forwarding, drayage, and domestic transportation. We’re seeking an Enterprise Drayage Operations Specialist to support high-volume drayage for our major client, building shipments in the TMS and coordinating pickups with the Sales team.

You will maintain strong relationships with truckers and customers, track containers, and resolve capacity issues while promoting efficient, cost-effective transport

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred or an equivalent of education/experience.
• 1+ years of logistics experience preferred.
• Proactive, independent, and reliable in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and self-motivation skills with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Builds shipments in our TMS, schedules container pick-up and delivery appointments, and manages the financial data of the shipments
• Partner with the Drayage Sales team facilitate the end-to-end drayage move
• Builds key relationships with both truckers and customers to ensure Steam Logistics is seen as best-in-class service provider; proactive communicator via phone & email follow up
• Fully knowledgeable of all operational aspects of the TMS and how the workflow is setup to be as efficient as possible; brings and promotes suggestions on how to enhance and automate processes
• Effectively communicates and offers solutions when capacity problems arise, as well as ensuring LFD’s and Port Cuts are prioritized
• Excellent sense of container tracking to ensure we avoid all detention, per diem, storage, etc.; Comes up with unique and effective solutions to eliminate these costs
