Job summary

Kraft Energy Systems Inc. in Alpena, Michigan, seeks an experienced CAD/Design Engineer to create and refine capital equipment layouts for the concrete products industry.

You will model and detail equipment using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and generate foundation and installation drawings for customer projects. The role requires strong drafting and design skills, excellent communication, and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Designs, models, and details capital equipment layouts for concrete products.

• Develops and updates plant layouts, sales drawings, and foundation/installation drawings.
• Completes drawing revisions and releases through required documentation.
• Collaborates with sales and service in the field to verify equipment specifications.
• Assists with incoming customer calls and inquiries.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position designs, models, and details capital equipment layouts for the concrete products industry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• 1.Works with the field sales team on capital equipment requests.
• 2.Utilizes SolidWorks/CAD systems for model creation, design, drafting, and detailing of all Besser products.
• 3.Originates, develops, and updates plant layouts, sales drawings, and foundation, installation and erection drawings for products to meet defined company or customer requirements.
• 4.Completes required documentation for drawing revisions and releases.
• 5.Collaborates with sales and service representatives in the field to ensure all equipment specifications are accurate.
• 6.Assists with incoming customer calls.
• 7.Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associates degree in CAD, a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience: Work experience in drafting, design and SolidWorks/CAD.

Skills: Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of
employees, management, and customers. Familiarity of a variety of standard industry concepts, practices, and procedures. Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks applications.

Requirements: Must be willing to travel.
