Amron, A Division of AMTEC Corp. is seeking a detail‑oriented mechanical design engineer to prepare detailed drawings of machinery, dies, tools and controls using CAD tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

You will layout schematic and orthographic views, coordinate with cross‑functional teams, update records, and contribute to continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing environment. A Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of manufacturing experience recommended.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using CAD equipment (AutoCAD and SolidWorks).
  • Layout and draw schematic, orthographic or angle views to depict functional relationships of components and assemblies.
  • Coordinate with other workers to design, lay out or detail components and systems and resolve design problems.
  • Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the material.
  • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings and related data to assess factors affecting designs and procedures.
  • Update internal records, reports, drawings and designs and document control.
  • Engage in engineering tasks related to tools, dies, fixtures, gauges, and special tooling.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects including development, implementation, repair and replacement.

Description

Summary

Under the direction of the Engineering Department, prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods and other engineering information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment. (Auto Cad and Solid Works)
  2. Layout and draw schematic, orthographic or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems and machines.
  3. Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
  4. Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the material.
  5. Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and procedures and instructions to be followed.
  6. Update internal records, reports, drawings and designs through the system and document control.
  7. Perform engineering assignments relative to the development and design of tools, dies, fixtures, gauges, and special machine tooling.
  8. Participate in continuous improvement projects to include development, implementation, repair, and replacement projects.
Qualifications

Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models. Knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor Degree – Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field is required and/or 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent is recommended.

Must be a United States Citizen.
