Job summary

Hobart Filler Metals is seeking a skilled operator to safely run draw benches and ensure the production of high-quality parts. You will follow detailed instructions, manage changeovers, and perform micrometer readings along with routine quality checks.

The role requires strong time management, reliability, and teamwork to support a productive shop floor. A valid forklift license is required, and occasional cross-training on additional equipment may occur.

Qualifications

  • Draw bench experience preferred.
  • Ability to meet production rates.
  • Able to lift approx. 65 pounds continually.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
  • Meet safety and attendance expectations.
  • Excellent quality record.
  • Strong attitude, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Valid forklift license required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate draw benches to produce high-value products.
  • Follow work instructions and process specs for setup and production.
  • Track drawbench changeovers and complete setup/changeovers promptly.
  • Read micrometers and perform routine quality checks/visual inspections.
  • Enter quality checks into Route Card and flag nonconforming products.
  • Monitor equipment to ensure quality output and address maintenance issues.
  • Communicate with team leads, process techs, and maintenance.
  • Keep workspace clean and safe; operate other equipment if needed.
