Job description

Virginia Eagle Distributing (VED) is one of Virginia's leading beverage distributors. We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Draught Technician to install, service, and maintain draught beer systems across an assigned territory - protecting product quality and VED's on-premise reputation, growing our on-premise draught business, and supporting the highest standards of quality and safety at every account.

This is a physical, technical, out-in-the-field role - not a desk job. You'll work hands-on with CO2 systems, glycol cooling, and draught lines at bars, restaurants, and retail accounts, while also building relationships that grow VED's on-premise draught business. If you take pride in your craft, like being on the move, and want to be part of a team that keeps Virginia's favorite beverages flowing, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do
  • Install, troubleshoot, and clean all draught lines within your assigned territory to VED and manufacturer quality standards
  • Maintain and service CO2 and glycol cooling systems, including checking and replacing CO2 tanks, setting regulator pressure, and servicing glycol chillers
  • Diagnose draught system performance issues, including checking beer temperature, line pressure, pour rate, and foam quality; identify and correct the root cause of poor-pouring or off-quality draught beer
  • Replace worn or damaged tubing, seals, gaskets, couplers, and fittings as needed
  • Maintain draught cleaning records for all lines within your territory
  • Aggressively pursue competitors’ draught business to convert taps to VED brands
  • Coordinate, implement, and execute On-Premise National Chain Account promotions and directives
  • Order and maintain an accurate inventory of draught equipment and supplies
  • Coach and train On-Premise Route Drivers and the On-Premise Promotional Team on draught quality standards
  • Ensure same-day coverage and resolution of all draught line problems within your territory
What We’re Looking For
  • Valid Virginia driver's license with a safe driving record; Class A CDL preferred but not required
  • Proficiency with the hand and power tools used to install and maintain draught systems, including line cleaning pumps, pressure gauges, wrenches, and CO2 regulators; working knowledge of faucets, shanks, couplers, and glycol cooling systems
  • Ability to lift and carry, including overhead lifting, 15-40 pounds or more on a repetitive basis with frequent bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and sitting
  • Ability to move full kegs (approximately 160 pounds); most locations allow use of a hand truck or keg cart, but in coolers or spaces too small for a cart, must be able to safely roll, tilt, and maneuver a full keg by hand
  • Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather and/or temperature conditions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing
  • Basic math and computer skills
What We Offer
  • $18.00 - $26.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications at time of offer. Starting pay for new hires is typically at or near the range minimum. Placement above the minimum is based on directly relevant industry experience and internal equity.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-paid short-term disability (STD) and long-term disability (LTD)
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • Safe Harbor 401(k)
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • Uniforms provided
