Palisociety is hiring a Barista at Dram Yard Restaurant in Wilmington. You will prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, beverages, and small bites, providing a welcoming, laidback atmosphere for guests from arrival to departure.

Role requires 1 year of high-volume restaurant experience, flexible shifts, and commitment to tidy, efficient service while supporting hotel promotions for overnight guests.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a high volume or high profile restaurant.
• Flexible schedule with availability for various shifts.
• Prolonged standing, walking and bending; able to push, pull or lift up to 25 lbs.
• Excellent guest service mindset and ability to resolve issues with good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Taking orders, making espresso drinks, and serving coffee and other refreshments from the bar.
• Answering customer questions regarding ingredients and making milk/espresso adjustments per preference.
• Restocking, replenishing, and prepping the coffee bar and side work areas.
• Ensuring the coffee bar, restaurant and bar run smoothly and maintaining a tidy, fun atmosphere.
• Communicating feedback to bar and restaurant managers; collaborating with hotel staff for guest promotions.

We're looking for an upbeat, espresso buff to prepare and serve coffee drinks, small bites, and other refreshments at Dram Yard Restaurant, ARRIVE Hotel Wilmington.

THE TASK AT HAND:

• You’re the friendly face that enhances our guests’ experience by bringing your own flavor to the table
• Making sure guests are having a fabulous time, from the moment they arrive until it's time to say goodbye.
• Creating a warm, friendly, and laidback atmosphere that turns first-time guests into regulars.
• Learning our steps of service, products, menu, and systems inside and out.
• Taking orders, make espresso drinks, and serve coffee and other refreshments from the bar as ordered by guests.
• Answering customer questions regarding ingredients and kindly make adjustments to milk, sugar ratios, and espresso shots based on preference.
• Working with the team to ensure the coffee bar, restaurant and bar run smoothly with everything in its place. We like to keep things tidy and fun for patrons and our staff.
• Restocking, replenishing, and prepping the coffee bar and side work areas as needed.
• Communicating openly with bar and restaurant managers when it comes to customer feedback.
• Collaborating with the hotel staff to ensure overnight guests visit the bar/restaurant and know about all the great offerings (and promotions!) available exclusively to them.
• Complying with healthy and safety regulations
• Receiving and processingpayments
