Stormwater/Water Resources Project Engineer

We are seeking a Stormwater Project Engineer with experience in delivering a broad range of stormwater projects to support transportation design in our Florida Division. Responsibilities include designing and analyzing open and closed storm drainage systems, hydrology and hydraulic analysis related to culvert sizing, open channel design, bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, storm sewer infrastructure, and floodplain analysis. You will work collaboratively within our team, supporting civil/transportation and structural design groups.

Location

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with in-office work available in Ft. Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Miami, Tallahassee, or Tampa.

The Impact You Will Have
  • Perform hydraulic and hydrology analyses and design for transportation projects
  • Prepare drainage reports adhering to client and industry standards
  • Assist with plan production for drainage design, stormwater management, detention facilities, water quality/MS4, quantities, and specifications
  • Contribute to project milestones and monitor progress
  • Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models, reports, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Ensure the development of high-quality engineering documents
  • Follow internal procedures for quality control and project documentation
  • Support project pursuits
What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 8-12 years of transportation drainage experience
  • PE License preferred
  • Progressive responsibility in transportation/roadway drainage design
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
  • Understanding of relevant design standards (preferred)
  • Experience with stormwater management plans and MS4 (preferred)
  • Experience with transportation project plan production (preferred)
  • Experience developing deliverables per FDOT standards (preferred)
