Job description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer with expertise in stormwater management, drainage design, and hydrology/hydraulics modeling. Experience with site grading and land development design is a plus. The ideal candidate will support civil engineering projects by developing innovative stormwater solutions, preparing design calculations, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This position is primarily remote but requires travel to MD one day per month for meetings.


Responsibilities:
  • Design and analyze stormwater management systems, including detention/retention ponds, culverts, storm sewers, and channel improvements.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using software such as HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, SWMM, and StormCAD.
  • Prepare stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), erosion control designs, and drainage impact studies.
  • Conduct site grading and drainage design for land development, transportation, and infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop project plans, specifications, and reports.
  • Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal stormwater regulations, including MS4 permits and FEMA floodplain requirements.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, feasibility studies, and permitting documentation.
  • Support project managers with client coordination, permitting, and construction support services.
  • Perform site visits and field investigations as needed.
