Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Hydrology & Hydraulics Engineer in the Greater Houston area to deliver drainage analyses for public infrastructure projects. You will model using HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS, SWMM, and ArcGIS Pro, and design stormwater systems in accordance with FEMA and DOT standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in hydrology & hydraulics engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or ability to obtain soon).
• Strong proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and XP-SWMM.
• Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with stormwater drainage design, floodplain mapping, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater drainage systems, floodplain analysis, and roadway drainage.
• Develop drainage reports, stormwater management plans, and flood impact analyses for transportation and other public infrastructure projects.
• Design stormwater conveyance systems, detention basins, culverts, channels, and levees in compliance with regulations.
• Utilize ArcGIS Pro, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, XP-SWMM, and AutoCAD Civil 3D for hydraulic/hydrologic analysis.
• Conduct floodplain mapping, risk assessments, and mitigation planning using FEMA/NFIP guidelines.
• Collaborate with public agencies, regulatory bodies, and clients for compliance and approvals.
• Prepare/review technical reports, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Support senior project managers in proposals, budgets, and schedules.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers.
