Job summary

The City of Aurora is seeking a Water Engineering Drainage Supervisor of Development Review to lead a team responsible for coordinating development and drainage reviews, QA/QC, and process improvements.

The role requires a Professional Engineer license in Colorado, 7 years of utility infrastructure experience, and strong supervisory skills; collaboration with Public Works, Planning, PROS, and other departments is essential to support growth.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
• Seven years of utility infrastructure engineering experience with emphasis on new infrastructure and development.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain licensure within six months
• Certified Floodplain Manager or ability to obtain within six months
• Driver's license with a good driving history

Responsibilities

• Supervises and leads the development review team; manages workload, staff, and initiatives with clear priorities and goals.
• Coordinates with other City Departments and external agencies to implement cross-departmental solutions for processes and complex projects.
• Reviews developments, site plans, and civil plans for conformance to annexation agreements and city standards.
• Develops and updates technical criteria and workflow processes for development review.
• Resolves complex technical issues and provides direction on development-related decisions while managing risk.
