Job summary

Dauenhauer Plumbing, Heating & Air in Kentucky hires a Drain Technician to diagnose, clean, and repair residential and commercial drain systems. You’ll work with cable machines, jetters, and sewer cameras, performing inspections and providing clear repair options.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in drain cleaning or plumbing, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 50+ lbs, with availability for evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of drain cleaning or related plumbing experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Knowledge of drain cleaning equipment (cable, sectional, jetter, camera systems).
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform physical labor.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends or on‑call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics & Repair: Locate, diagnose, and clear drain and sewer blockages.
• Video Inspection: Operate sewer cameras and locators to identify line issues.
• Repair Recommendations: Explain repair options (spot repairs, trenchless, excavation, or replacements).
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled cleanings and maintenance.
• Customer Service: Communicate findings and pricing clearly to customers.
• Documentation: Complete service tickets with photos and notes.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow OSHA safety protocols and PPE standards.
• Teamwork: Coordinate with supervisors, dispatch, and plumbers.
