We are looking for an experienced Drain Cleaning Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for diagnosing and clearing drain and sewer problems for residential and commercial customers using professional drain-cleaning and inspection equipment.
This is a hands-on field position for someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, comfortable working independently, and willing to help with other field and underground utility work when needed.
What You'll Do
- Inspect, diagnose, clean, and clear drain and sewer blockages in residential and commercial buildings.
- Operate rotary cable machines, high-pressure water jetting equipment, and sewer inspection cameras.
- Perform drain cleaning on toilets, sinks, tubs, showers, floor drains, main sewer lines, and other plumbing fixtures.
- Identify the source of drain and sewer problems and determine the appropriate method for clearing the blockage.
- Explain findings and completed work to customers in a professional manner.
- Maintain drain-cleaning machines, cameras, jetting equipment, hand tools, and other assigned equipment.
- Keep your service vehicle clean, fueled, organized, and properly stocked with tools and supplies.
- Maintain required service records, equipment logs, and other documentation.
- Travel to residential, commercial, and construction job sites as assigned.
- Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment.
- Assist with excavation and underground utility work when required, including digging, material removal, backfilling, and site restoration.
- Restore and clean work areas after completing service or construction work.
- Follow company safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions at all times.
- Arrive on time, communicate with supervisors, and complete assigned service calls efficiently.
- Participate in on-the-job training and learn new equipment, techniques, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as needed to support field operations.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience as a Drain Cleaning Technician, Drain Technician, or Plumber preferred.
- Experience operating small and large drain-cleaning machines.
- Experience with sewer cameras and high-pressure jetting equipment is strongly preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot drain and sewer problems in residential and commercial settings.
- Working knowledge of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
- Underground utility or construction experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
- Ability and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with limited supervision.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Must be able to successfully complete required pre-employment screening.
