Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Test Engineer for the Dragon program. The role covers Dragon spacecraft integration, testing, refurbishment, and ground processing to enable crew and cargo transport to low Earth orbit.

You will develop procedures for post-flight testing, create in-house test solutions, and act as a Dragon test conductor. Interaction with design engineers will drive improvements to capsule design and processing workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of hardware development or related experience (internships ok).
• Proficiency in Python and C++ appears in role requirements.
• Experience with test automation and data reviews is preferred.
• Ability to pass ITAR and background checks; travel may be required.
• Willingness to work long hours in a high-tempo environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procedures for post-flight testing of Crew and Cargo Dragon hardware.
• Develop test solutions for in-house hardware to fly to space.
• Act as Dragon vehicle controller and test conductor during integrated tests.
• Evaluate refurbishment campaigns and associated change/risk.
• Develop and implement integration processes for ownership areas.
• Manage ground support equipment projects and communicate ROI.
• Design tools to enable test operations and vehicle processing.
• Work with application software to automate test processing and data reviews.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve problems and improve tools.
• Troubleshoot vehicle or GSE failures and write disposition plans.
• Communicate test priorities including safety and schedule.
