Job summary

Rinker Materials Career Center is seeking a CAD‑driven Drafter to produce detailed drawings and profiles for construction projects. You will interpret plans, create design variations, and support cost and engineering assessments using CAD/CAM/CAE tools.

The role emphasizes math-driven drafting, adherence to deadlines, and collaboration with engineering teams to deliver accurate, production-ready drawings. A technical degree and ADDA certification are desirable.

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as a Drafter or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling tools
  • Good math skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Drafting certification may be required

Responsibilities

  • Drafts and creates routine to moderately complex detailed drawings, sketches, and profiles used in planning or construction of various projects.
  • Follows directions to conceive of or create form and design variations for consideration.
  • Uses extensive knowledge of CAD equipment and software.
  • Examines and analyzes plans for potential cost and engineering considerations; draws preliminary sketches.
  • Assists with the drafting of final drawings.
  • Uses mathematical formulas for calculations frequently.

About the Role:

  • BSc in Engineering, Architecture or degree from a technical college
  • Additional certification from the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) is a plus
