Talent Edge Recruiting in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a hands-on Drafting Engineer for high-end commercial and architectural projects. You will draft architectural and production drawings, handle submittals, production processing, and CNC programming on a cross-trained team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional drafting experience.
• Strong CAD/AutoCAD experience.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and technical drawings.
• Experience with architectural submittals and detailed production drawings.
• Background in millwork, cabinetry, architectural interiors, construction, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Inventor experience is strongly preferred, but CAD experience may be trained.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed architectural and production drawings for custom millwork and cabinetry.
• Prepare architectural submittals and production processing.
• Program CNC equipment and create cut lists.
• Prepare material takeoffs.
• Read and interpret architectural and technical drawings.
• Work on multiple commercial projects ranging from smaller scopes to $1M+ flagship projects.
• Collaborate with the drafting and engineering team to meet project deadlines.
• Turn around drafting and submittal work within approximately 2–3 weeks.
