SOWELA invites applications for a 9-month unclassified faculty position in Drafting and Design Technology. The role emphasizes hands-on instruction, developing student skills, and delivering lectures across classroom, labs, and online settings.

Responsibilities include maintaining grades, organizing instruction, and supporting program assessment amid a collaborative academic environment in Lake Charles. Requires strong communication and teamwork to engage diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an associate degree in drafting.
• Must meet credential guidelines for SACSCOC and ATMAE.
• 5 years’ professional drafting experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face, hands-on, and/or hybrid instruction to Drafting and Design Technology students on the Main Campus.
• Prepare, organize, and deliver lectures, demonstrate and teach subject matter in the classroom, labs, and online/hybrid setting, and moderate classroom discussion.
• Maintain accurate grades and attendance records.
• Organize classroom instruction and management; hold student hours weekly.
• Support School of Business and Applied Technology assessment initiatives.
• Attend faculty and advisory committee meetings and on-campus events.
