Job summary

SOWELA College is seeking an adjunct instructor for the School of Business & Applied Technology in Lake Charles. You will deliver drafting courses aligned with approved curricula, creating clear objectives and outcomes for each course.

You will organize in-person, hybrid, or online sessions, use diverse teaching methods, and participate in assessment initiatives while collaborating with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Drafting or closely related field required.
• Must meet SACSCOC credentialing requirements.
• At least 2 years of work-related experience.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; ability to use technology in curriculum.
• Able to create a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes approved curriculum; develops course objectives and learning outcomes.
• Organizes face-to-face, hybrid, or online instruction with course outlines and materials.
• Supports School of Business and Applied Technology assessment initiatives.
• Provides training in essential competencies for success in occupation.
• Attend faculty meetings; other duties as assigned.
