Job summary

The Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges System institution in Lake Charles seeks a full-time, 9-month instructor for Drafting and Design Technology on the Main Campus. The role involves face-to-face, hybrid instruction and managing grades, attendance, and student progress while engaging students with current drafting and AutoCAD coursework.

The successful candidate will hold at least an associate degree in drafting, meet SACSCOC/ATMAE guidelines, have 5 years of industry drafting

Qualifications

• Minimum of an associate degree in drafting
• Must meet credential guidelines for SACSCOC and ATMAE
• 5 years’ professional drafting experience in industry
• Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to teach in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face, hands-on, and/or hybrid instruction to Drafting and Design Technology students on the Main Campus.
• Prepare, organize, and deliver lectures, demonstrate and teach subject matter in the classroom, labs, and online/hybrid setting, and moderate classroom discussion.
• Maintain accurate grades and attendance records.
• Support student enrollment and retention by participating in college events and activities.
• Submit required reports in a timely manner.
• Attend faculty and advisory committee meetings, Convocation, and other on-campus College events.
