Job summary

River Edge Borough is seeking a Laborer for the Department of Public Works in River Edge, NJ. Full-time position under supervision, performing recycling and a wide range of maintenance tasks across public buildings, parks, roads, and sewers. Requires a Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement; tanker endorsement within one year.

Must be a U.S. citizen with NJ residency and able to lift 40 lbs. Position includes paid holidays, medical benefits, a 457 plan, and a pension.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement; tanker endorsement within one year.
• Able to lift 40 lbs.
• Willing to work mandatory emergency overtime.
• New Jersey residency required.

Responsibilities

• Recycle materials and perform maintenance of public buildings, parks, grounds, roads and sewers.
• Assist with chipping, landscaping, leaf/brush collection, shoveling, and plowing.
• Perform catch basin maintenance, road work, paving/patching, and building & grounds upkeep.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety across facilities; respond to assigned tasks as needed.
