Qualifications

  • Earned terminal doctorate in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities.
  • At least 6 years of full-time higher education experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as core faculty member in a CAPTE accredited entry‑level physical therapist education program.
  • Senior faculty rank (Associate Professor or higher), with experience consistent with South College system for designated faculty rank.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania or the state of residence.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain program accreditation from CAPTE.
  • Coordinate the program's compliance with accreditation standards and rules.
  • Coordinate submission of required fees and documentation to accreditation bodies.
  • Notify accrediting bodies about substantive program changes and institutional accreditation changes.
  • Ensure faculty access to applicable standards and establish compliance expectations.
  • Maintain accurate, publicly accessible program accreditation and student achievement information.
  • Follow CAPTE Rules of Practice and Procedure.
  • Develop and maintain a contemporary, evidence-based Doctor of Physical Therapy curriculum.
  • Develop, maintain, and uphold regulations, policies, and procedures for program goals and outcomes.
  • Provide leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the DPT Program.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors and leaders of other South College DPT Programs.
  • Mentor and regularly evaluate faculty and staff, including professional development planning.
  • Plan and administer the campus DPT budget and financial resources.
  • Plan and conduct DPT Program faculty meetings.
  • Recruit faculty for the DPT Program.
  • Recommend continued employment and promotion of faculty.
  • Teach courses as agreed with the School of Rehabilitation Sciences Dean and in compliance with CAPTE standards.
  • Advise and mentor graduate DPT students.
  • Participate in professional scholarly activities, committee work, curriculum planning, and development.
  • Collaborate with other academic programs where appropriate.
