Strategic Government Resources, Inc. is seeking a Preservation & Redevelopment Program Manager in Georgetown, TX to serve as the City’s technical expert for downtown planning, architectural design, and historic preservation.

The role leads the Historic Preservation program and coordinates with the Downtown Master Plan and HARC. You will review regulations, provide policy guidance, supervise staff, and liaise with City Council and state agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in planning or related field with four years of progressively responsible professional work experience in planning or promoting historic preservation goals and urban design.
• Master’s degree may substitute for one year of required experience.
• Experience in design review in historic districts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, promote, and implement the City’s Historic Preservation Program.
• Serve as Downtown Redevelopment Planning project lead.
• Develop and administer City policies for protection of cultural and historical resources; ensure compliance with preservation regulations.
• Provide technical assistance to property owners, developers and the public.
• Review and discuss preservation policies with owners and developers.
• Conduct community training on historic preservation issues.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise staff involved in historic preservation functions.
• Conduct zoning, subdivision, and site plan reviews and make recommendations on changes to historic properties.
• Assist in Certificate of Appropriateness process and in development of long-range studies in line with planning codes and master plan.
• Act as City Historic Preservation Officer and liaison to HARC and Texas Historical Commission CLG program.
• Support Downtown Master Plan implementation through interdepartmental coordination.
