Chief Operating Officer at Rogers Lowell Chamber

The Downtown Business Developer leads efforts to implement the Downtown Master Plan (2015) and drive economic growth in Downtown Rogers. This role involves collaboration with city officials, business and property owners, developers, and stakeholders to attract and retain businesses, enhance community engagement, and position Downtown Rogers as a thriving destination.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Economic Development: Promote business retention and attraction, fostering Downtown Rogers as a hub for commerce and investment.
  2. Plan Implementation: Develop and execute revitalization strategies aligned with the Downtown Master Plan.
  3. Public Engagement: Utilize social media, events, and promotions to connect with the community.
  4. Stakeholder Relations: Strengthen partnerships with local, regional, and government entities.
  5. Data & Reporting: Oversee economic development tracking and progress reporting.
  6. Entrepreneurial Support: Connect business and property owners with resources and support networks.
  7. Business Development: Serve as the primary contact for new business inquiries and development projects.
  8. Marketing & Communication: Manage newsletters, press releases, and social media to promote Downtown Rogers.
  9. Other Duties: Support evolving Chamber initiatives and downtown development priorities as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  1. Strong communication, marketing, and organizational skills.
  2. Experience in economic development, historic preservation, or business management.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and administrative management.
  4. Leadership, fundraising, and entrepreneurship experience preferred.
  5. Ability to build and implement strategies for sustainable downtown growth.
  6. Strong public speaking, media relations, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  7. Experience with grant writing and funding acquisition preferred.
  8. Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, marketing, economic development, or a related field.
  9. Five (5) years of progressive experience in planning, community, or economic development.
  10. Valid driver’s license.
  11. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
