Job summary

GenScript USA Inc/ProBio Inc. in the US is seeking a Protein Purification Associate Scientist to join the US Protein Department.

You will perform downstream processing including protein purification, characterization, and documentation, contributing to high-quality biologics development. The ideal candidate holds a BS/MS in a life sciences field with 1+ years of purification experience, familiarity with AKTA systems, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry or related field with 1+ years of relevant experience in protein purification/characterization.
• Familiarity with AKTA systems and chromatography software is a strong plus.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail and data integrity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience in a CRO or CDMO setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform protein purification using chromatography techniques such as affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion, and hydrophobic interaction.
• Prepare buffers and reagents following SOPs and project-specific protocols.
• Characterize protein products using SDS‑PAGE, Western Blot, HPLC, UV spectroscopy, BCA assay, and other analytical methods.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation of experimental procedures and results.
• Troubleshoot and optimize purification protocols as needed to improve yield and purity.
• Collaborate closely with upstream, analytical, and quality teams to ensure project timelines and specifications are met.
• Assist in the revision and creation of SOPs, batch records, and technical reports.
• Support additional tasks and projects as assigned by the department supervisor.
