Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Process Development Associate to contribute to Drug Substance process development for late-stage clinical and commercial biologics. You will work on end-to-end manufacturing processes from cell culture to purification, collaborating across a diverse team to advance molecules through Ph II/III and into filing.

You will design and run bench-scale experiments, troubleshoot day-to-day issues, and expand expertise in cell culture and purification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (required).
• Associate’s degree + 2 years of scientific experience or High school diploma + 4 years of scientific experience.
• Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and/or purification operations.
• Understanding of cell culture, protein chromatography, and filtration principles.
• Ability to apply scientific and engineering principles to problems and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to goals such as improving process yield and robustness.
• Conduct small-scale bioprocess experiments spanning upstream and downstream operations.
• Maintain cell culture in shake flasks, bags, and benchtop bioreactors.
• Perform purification experiments including chromatography and filtration.
• Support automation programming for benchtop bioreactors and chromatography systems.
• Prepare technical reports and GMP documents for regulatory filings.
