Job summary

Ark Biotech Inc. seeks a Downstream Bioprocess Modeler to develop models for purification and separation, with responsibilities from ideation to validation. You will work with PhD-level modelers and software engineers translating models into user-friendly software.

Ideal candidates have a PhD in chemical engineering or related fields, 0–5 years of experience, and strong Python skills. Opportunities include hybrid modeling and ML enhancements on challenging bioprocess problems.

Qualifications

• PhD in chemical engineering, separations science, applied mathematics, or related field.
• 0-5 years of work experience in research or modeling roles.
• Expertise solving complex PDE/DAE or transport-reaction problems.
• Proficiency in Python or similar scientific language.

Responsibilities

• Own new downstream model development from ideation through validation, survey literature and choose modeling approaches.
• Develop and deploy mechanistic models of chromatography and downstream unit operations.
• Build hybrid and ML-augmented models to improve predictivity and speed.
• Address numerical simulation, parameter estimation, uncertainty, and optimization tasks.
