Job summary

DMC Biotechnologies, Inc. seeks an Engineer I to join the Downstream Processing team in Boulder, CO. This hands-on, laboratory-based role supports the development and scale-up of purification processes for fermentation products.

You will work under guidance of experienced engineers and collaborate across the technical team to deliver robust purification strategies. The position is a 12-month project funded by a grant, with responsibilities spanning experiment planning, data analysis, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with unit operations such as membrane filtration, evaporation, distillation, crystallization, chromatography, reaction chemistry, and solid-liquid separation.
• Ability to safely operate laboratory equipment and execute written experimental procedures.
• Ability to analyze quantitative data, clearly document results, and draw data-driven conclusions.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple experiments or priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support development and optimization of processes for purification of compounds from fermentation.
• Plan and execute laboratory experiments involving unit operations with guidance.
• Use analytical techniques to quantify compounds in complex mixtures.
• Analyze data, draw conclusions, and communicate results to the team.
• Maintain accurate experimental records, calculations, and summaries.
• Track important experimental parameters and data, focusing on mass balances and product quality.
