Job summary

MarquisIndustrialServices is seeking an Insulation Helper/Apprentice to support field insulation work on piping systems, exchangers, furnaces, boilers, tanks, vessels, and ductwork. You will read blueprints, measure and cut insulation, and assist with cladding to ensure temperature and noise control.

The role requires adherence to safety standards, ability to work with a crew, and willingness to support various tasks on a dynamic site environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read blueprints, sketches, or isometric drawings.
• Must be willing to assist other crafts while not actively working on an insulating project.
• Must be able to meet all physical requirements and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to OSHA and site-specific safety requirements for insulation and cladding materials.
• Participates in safety pre-job audits and tailgate meetings with crew to communicate hazards.
• Completes and signs JSA, iPlan, iChat, iCard, S&P/SCE/TXO insulation checklists and necessary documentation before tasks.
• Reads blueprints and specifications to determine scope: locations, quantities, sizes of materials.
• Measures, marks, and cuts insulation to required specifications for coverings surfaces.
• Installs sheetmetal/cladding around insulated equipment to protect insulation.

EssentialFunctions

• AdherestoallOSHA,MarquisConstructionServices,andDOWsitespecificsafetyrequirementsforapplyinginsulationandcladdingmaterials.
• Participateinsafetypre-jobauditsandtailgatemeetingswiththeworkcreworprojectteamtocommunicateandreviewallsafetyhazards/safetyrisksandtheprecautionsrequiredtoeliminatethoserisks.

• Mustbeknowledgeableinthefabricationofsheetmetal/claddingtosupportinstallationinthefield.
• Willingnesstoworkwithothercrewmemberstoaccomplishtask,supportingand/orhelping.
• EffectivelycommunicatingwithSupervisors,PeersandSubordinates.
• Responsibleforcleaningworkarea–removingdebrisandmaterials.

• NationalCenterforConstructionEducationandResearch’s(NCCER)certificationforIndustrialJourneymanInsulator.
• Experienceworkingwithscaffolding,insulation,andpainting.
• Workingcloselywithandoverseeingonoccasionofhelperandlaborpositions.Thepositionwilloccasionallyholdapositionalandexpertiseauthorityofthehelperandlaborerpositions.
