Job summary

MarquisConstructionServices seeks a Coating Painter/Craftsman to perform blasting and coating duties per job specifications. You will prepare and paint surfaces including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, aluminum and concrete, following diagrams, color codes and mixing charts.

The role requires adherence to OSHA and EPA standards, safety pre-job audits, daily scaffold checks, and effective communication with the crew.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent.
• Required to wear PPE on jobsite at all times.
• Ability to pass Hair Follicle Testing.
• Acceptable Background.
• 2–3 years of coating experience preferred in a chemical plant environment.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Successful candidates could be required to complete lead abatement training and regularly scheduled lead testing.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to OSHA, site-specific and Marquis Construction Services requirements for blasting and painting.
• Abide by all EPA environmental standards.
• Inspects jobsite for safety hazards.
• Participate in safety pre-job audits (JSA’s) with the painting crew to ensure all safety hazards have been identified.
• Prepare and paint a variety of surfaces including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, aluminum and concrete to Marquis and customers' specifications.
• Uniformly apply wet primers, paints, and coatings to parts and components, ensuring no overspraying and smooth, even coverage.

• Prepareandcleanitemsandsurfacestobefinished.Mask,plug,blockfinished,machinedorspecifiedsurfacesnottobecoated.
• Uniformlyapplywetpriers,paints,andwetordrycoatingstopartsandcomponentsandotheritemsusingcaretoavoidoverspraying/coatingandtoobtainasmooth,coveredandevensurfacefreefromrunsandthinspots.Repeatoperationsasnecessarytoobtaindesiredeffectorthicknessofmedia.
• Visuallyandmechanicallycheckfinisheditemsforpinholes,runs,barespots,propercoverage.Refinishandtouchupasrequired.
• Prepareandcoatsamplepieces.
• Ensurethepropermovementoffinishedgoodstoinspectionorshippingarea,cleaningandmaintenanceofsprayapplicationequipment,booths,filters,protectiveclothingandequipmentaccordingtoestablishedpractices.Ensureneededpaintingandcoatingsuppliesareonhand.
• Periodicallycheckwith
• Communicateeffectivelywithcrewmembersandsupervision.
• Cleanupworkarea,supplies,materialsandequipment.
• Attendanceisanessentialfunctionofthisjob.
• Anyotherdutiesasassignedbysupervision.
