Job summary

Pures Food Specialties LLC in Broadview, IL is seeking a production operator to follow safety guidelines, read recipes, and keep a clean, safe work area on the production line. You will operate mixers, use digital scales, and manage batch recipes and lot numbers, while reporting food safety and quality issues to your supervisor; flexibility for weekends and holidays is required.

Experience with maintaining FIFO, labeling, and documentation is preferred; bilingualism is a plus, and compliance

Qualifications

• Experience operating and maintaining production line machines.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and batch systems.
• Understand GMP, HACCP and allergen controls; follow safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Ability to work in a safe manner, follow safety guidelines.
• Understand and follow Food Safety policies.
• Must be willing to work flexible schedules and work in other departments including weekends and holidays
• Ability to read and understand recipes.
• Ability to troubleshoot process related issues within the boundaries of the recipe
• Ability to use digital scales and have a working knowledge of scale functions.
• Ability to mix doughs according to recipe. Have a working knowledge of the mixer, using the timer and batch recipe system
• Follow FIFO (First in First Out), Mix lot number and documentation accuracy.
• Clean & Refill ingredient bins and label the bins with the correct lot number.
• Ability to work in a standing position for entire shift and climb steps and ladders.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Monitors and assists with equipment upstream/downstream to ensure continuous operation.
• Ability to clean mixers, work areas properly during and after production runs or changeovers.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Observe all plant safety, GMP and allergen procedures and attend appropriate training sessions.
• Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.
• Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to your supervisor.
• Follow supervisor’s directives and be able to support the shift team as needed.
