Job summary

United Rentals is a leading equipment rental provider seeking a Safety Assistant to support the Region Safety Manager in ensuring fleet safety and DOT compliance. The role involves assisting with safety programs, documentation, and onboarding processes, with a focus on regulatory adherence.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years in Safety/DOT compliance, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a multitasked environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• 1-2 years’ experience in Safety and DOT Compliance.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, to prioritize and work in a multitasked environment.
• Effective in a variety of formal presentation settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, with peers, direct reports, and bosses.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of driver hours of service records by following DOT requirements.
• Audit driver e-logs daily for accuracy and compliance, including violation reports.
• Manage all aspects of tractor and trailer inspection records by DOT requirements (DVIRS).
• Coordinate ongoing employee safety training.
• Participate in new employee training, orientation and onboarding processes.
