Job summary

Pepsi Bottling Ventures LLC is seeking a Trainee DOT to learn all aspects of a Route Delivery Driver role, supporting Bulk, Small Format, On-Premise, and Dollar General accounts along a designated route, delivering, unloading, and merchandising products in customer accounts according to PBV and customer standards.

The trainee will perform pre/post-trip inspections, drive a truck, unload and stock, and follow DOT/FMCSA regulations while building strong customer relationships and ensuring accurate

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Zero to two years of commercial driving experience; a CDL is preferred.
• Class A CDL is required.
• Must pass a DOT physical prior to first day of employment.
• CDL permit must be obtained within 45 business days if not currently held.
• Positive attitude and strong customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre/post-trip inspections on truck per DOT requirements.
• Safely drive and maneuver a truck with a gross vehicle weight under or over 26,000 pounds.
• Safely unload product and ensure proper check‑in procedures.
• Stock shelves, racks, coolers, and displays with proper rotation.
• Break down boxes and remove flats and empty cases for credit processing.
• Obtain required signatures and invoices for end‑of‑day settlement.
• Communicate issues to store personnel and management.
• Follow all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Trainee‑DOT Role Overview

The Trainee DOT is primarily responsible for learning all aspects of a Route Delivery Driver role, including the safe and efficient operation of the delivery vehicle. The trainee will service accounts (Bulk, Small Format, On‑Premise, and Dollar General) along a designated route, delivering, unloading, and merchandising products in customer accounts according to PBV and customer standards, adhering to all company, state, and federal safety and driving regulations.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

• Conduct pre/post‑trip inspections on truck per DOT requirements and promptly report problems to the fleet department.
• Safely drive and maneuver a truck with a gross vehicle weight under or over 26,000 pounds.
• Safely unload product, ensuring proper check‑in procedures.
• Stock shelves, racks, coolers, and displays, ensuring proper rotation.
• Break down boxes and remove flats, damages, and empty cases to ensure proper credit.
• Obtain required signatures, store stamps, and invoices to ensure proper settlement at the end of the day.
• Communicate issues to appropriate store personnel and management.
• Follow all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Zero to two years of commercial driving experience; a CDL is preferred.
• Class A CDL required.
• Must pass a DOT physical prior to first day of employment.
• Must obtain a CDL permit within 45 business days if not currently held.
• Positive attitude, detail‑oriented, strong focus on customer satisfaction.
• Ability to perform basic financial calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
