Job description

Customer Delivery Specialist – Trainee

This role trains individuals to perform Customer Delivery Specialist functions on various routes, including open and vacation routes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑post‑trip inspection on truck according to DOT requirements and promptly report problems.
• Safely drive and maneuver a truck weighing under or over 26,000 pounds.
• Service scheduled customers by the end of each shift per PBV and customer standards.
• Deliver product to stores, execute deliveries on all promotions.
• Unload, merchandise, and rotate product in all accounts to PBV and customer standards (filling shelves and coolers, building displays, rotating products, refilling out‑of‑stocks, removing expired products, removing/returning shells, etc.).
• Establish positive working relationships with the primary contact at each account and obtain required signatures or store stamps to ensure accurate settlement of all invoices.
• Communicate issues to appropriate store personnel and management.
• Follow all DOT and FMCSA regulations, and company rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Pass a DOT physical prior to first day of employment.
• Obtain a CDL permit by the 15th business day and a CDL license within 45 business days from the date of hire (if not already held).
• Positive, detail‑oriented attitude.
• Basic financial calculation skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
• Strong focus on customer satisfaction.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform heavy physical labor for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment.
• Self‑starter with excellent follow‑up skills.

• Meet PBV driving qualifications and ability to work required hours.

Essential Mental and Physical Functions

Physical: Walk or stand 34–66% of time; lift up to 56 pounds, push/pull 300–2400 pounds with pallet jack; sit 67–100%; climb occasionally.

Mental: Repetitive job requiring frequent but not more than normal mental or visual effort or alertness.

Equipment Used

Cars/trucks, handheld computer, pallet jacks, hand trucks, phone, calculator, and general office equipment.

Pay Range

$16.00 – $20.00 USD per hour.
