Job summary

JE Dunn Construction in the Kansas City area seeks a DOT Program Manager to oversee the organization’s DOT compliance program, ensuring adherence to federal, state and company regulations while supporting safe and efficient transportation operations.

You will lead a team, manage Driver Qualification Files, registrations, Hours of Service, and vehicle inspections; conduct audits; and partner with operations, safety and fleet to maintain regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 8+ years relevant experience in fleet management and DOT compliance.
• Experience managing DOT compliance programs, transportation operations, or fleet compliance.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, driver qualification requirements, vehicle licensing, and Hours of Service rules.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities in a complex, matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain DOT compliance programs and processes.
• Oversee Driver Qualification Files (DQFs) to ensure complete and accurate documentation.
• Ensure equipment registrations, licensing, and permits remain current and compliant.
• Monitor daily vehicle inspection reports and coordinate preventive maintenance activities.
• Manage Hours of Service (HOS) compliance, including driver log reviews and regulatory adherence.
• Conduct compliance audits, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
• Partner with operations, safety, and fleet teams to maintain regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
