Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Dosimetry Technician to provide radiation protection dosimetry support at multiple nuclear power plants. You will report to the site manager and perform duties based on certifications and skills while ensuring safety and compliance.

The role emphasizes access control, proper equipment use, adherence to procedures, and clear communication with coworkers and sponsors to deliver safe, quality results on each assignment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Trained to OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations.
• Eligibility for Level II Nuclear Access Badge.
• Completion of GAP training / CIRP Task of the NISP-RP-12.

Responsibilities

• Meet all applicable requirements to maintain unescorted access.
• Safe use and proper operation of applicable equipment.
• Use and adhere to station policies and procedures.
• Effectively communicate and interact with co‑workers, supervisors and sponsors to ensure safe and quality job completion for all assignments.
• Understand and follow oral and written communications, technical requirements, procedures and directives associated with working at a nuclear plant.
• Participation in a Basic Radiation Protection Training program.

About the role

As a dosimetry technician, you will provide radiation protection dosimetry support as required for power‑plant activities. In addition to providing dosimetry coverage, certain routine tasks may be assigned based on individual certifications, qualifications and skills.

You will report to the site manager and be located at multiple nuclear power plants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Workers must be trained in accordance with applicable local, state and federal OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations.
• Satisfy all requirements to obtain a Level II Nuclear Access Badge
• Completion of GAP training / CIRP Task of the NISP‑RP‑12 (Nuclear Industry Standard Process)

The hourly pay range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $20-$30 per hour.
