Job summary

Methodist Hospital is seeking a Medical Dosimetrist to join the radiation therapy treatment planning team. The role requires expertise in dose calculations, electron cutouts fabrication, and familiarity with Pinnacle3 and ARIA systems.

The position follows a typical 8:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule, Monday through Friday, with on-site responsibilities in the radiation therapy department. CMD/board readiness within one year is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited dosimetry school or completed on-the-job training in Medical Dosimetry.
• Must meet the requirements to sit for and pass the CMD board exam within one year of hire.
• Demonstrates knowledge of technical principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.

Position Summary:

The Medical Dosimetrist is a member of the radiation therapy treatment planning team who is thoroughly familiar with the physical and geometrical characteristics of the radiation equipment and radioactive sources commonly employed in Radiation Therapy. This team member has the training and expertise necessary to measure and generate radiation dose distributions and calculations under the direction of the Radiation Therapy Physicist and Radiation Oncologist. The Medical Dosimetrist has additional expertise in the fabrication of electron cutouts and custom bolus.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday (typically 8am - 4:30pm), 8-hour shifts

Required Qualifications:

• Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
  • Must have completed an accredited dosimetry school or completed on-the-job training in Medical Dosimetry.
  • Must meet the requirements to sit for and pass the CMD board exam within one year of hire.
• Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
  • NA
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Personal Computer, Telephone, Fax Machine, Photocopier, Printer, and electronic medical record.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
  • Pinnacle3 and ARIA experience preferred.
• Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
  • AAMD Membership preferred.
  • CMD preferred.
