Job summary

Jones Academy is seeking a part-time caregiver to support students across dorms and campus facilities. The role emphasizes safety, basic healthcare, and daily operations, with duties including medication administration and student supervision.

You will report to the manager and work a rotating schedule, including shifts on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. A valid driver's license and prior relevant experience are required; weekly wage access is available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Oral and writing skills including listening.
• Six months experience in similar role.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure student safety and welfare across dorms, rec areas and common spaces.
• Read daily staff logbook and provide interim handoff reports at shift change.
• Conduct daily student roll calls after school and monitor schedule changes.
• Manage money for students' spending funds as needed and report discrepancies.
• Dispense medications as prescribed and coordinate care with Medical Coordinator.
• Perform housekeeping duties and supervise students on assigned tasks.
• Attend Parent/Teacher Conferences at Jones Academy Elementary School.
• Conduct periodic bed checks and ensure students are accounted for.
• Submit requests for dormitory supplies and resources.

Part Time | Pay: $17.55 Hourly | Schedule: Wednesday & Thursday 3:15pm-11:45pm, Saturday & Sunday 8:00am-4:30pm (Off Friday, Monday, Tuesday)

Job Purpose or Objective(s): You will care for students at Jones Academy and ensure their needs are met in compliance with the policy and procedures set forth in the Handbook. You will report to the manager.

Primary Tasks:

• You will check dormitory, recreation areas and other student use areas to ensure that proper behavior, safety and overall welfare of students are being maintained and report hazards to a supervisor.
• Read daily logbook for staff notes/events, maintain a daily log providing important information that has occurred during your shift. Give interim report at end of your shift to the employees coming on.
• Conduct student roll call every day after school, check intranet for any announcements or changes in schedules.
• Maintain a money file for those students who bring in spending money from home.
• You will provide proper health care for all students; dispense medicine as prescribed; report illness to Medical Coordinator and Supervisor and transport a student to a medical appointment or to the ER room.
• Perform normal housekeeping responsibilities washing clothes, mopping floors. Give demonstration to teach proper cleaning and housekeeping to students; assign "details" to student and monitor performance.
• Attend Parent/Teacher Conference at Jones Academy Elementary School.
• Perform student bed checks; periodically check student rooms to make sure all students are sleeping and accounted for.
• Monitor and submit requests for dormitory supplies.

Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.
