Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking an experienced custodial worker to support dormitory cleanliness and maintenance in Charleston, SC. The role involves heavy-duty cleaning in common areas, stairwells, and exterior spaces, ensuring sanitary and safe conditions align with federal safety standards.

You will perform daily cleaning tasks, restock supplies, and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly while following all chemical handling and PPE procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year custodial or porter experience in a commercial or institutional setting
• Working knowledge of cleaning equipment supplies and sanitation procedures
• Ability to follow cleaning protocols and handle chemical cleaning agents safely
• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs bending climbing stairs and standing for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled daily cleaning tasks including sweeping mopping dusting vacuuming trash removal and restroom sanitation within the dormitories
• Clean and sanitize restrooms stairwells laundry rooms and common areas
• Clean and disinfect high touch surfaces within the communal areas of the dormitories
• Collect and remove trash and debris from dormitory buildings
• Replenish paper products and cleaning supplies as needed
• Monitor cleanliness of outdoor spaces around dormitories
• Report maintenance needs or safety concerns immediately
• Follow all safety protocols for chemical handling PPE usage and equipment operation
