Job summary

Distinction, LLC is seeking a dormitory supervisor for evenings, overnights, and weekends to supervise Job Corps trainees. The role provides a safe, mentoring environment, monitors daily activities, and supports trainees in meeting performance goals and work readiness standards.

The position is non-exempt/hourly with a 10% overnight shift differential (11:30pm–8:30am). Requires guiding youth, maintaining records, and coordinating with staff to ensure orderly dorm life and compliance with center

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 1–2 years’ experience in counseling, education, social work, rehabilitation, or vocational guidance.
• Associate’s degree in a behavioral health field from an accredited college or university a plus.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students and act as a mentor, promoting safe, supportive dormitory life.
• Ensure students meet schedules, wake on time, and arrive on time for school/work assignments.
• Prepare students for training days, including appropriate dress and readiness.
• Monitor hygiene, room chores, and other daily activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of dorms and bulletin boards.
• Provide informal counseling on stress management and responsible behavior.
• Document student progress and input data into records.
• Prepare reports to document student progress and center activities.
• Communicate between management, staff, and students.
• Lead life skills groups and discussions on budgeting and lease chores.
• Teach SST curriculum as defined by PRH and center.
• Attend required trainings and maintain safe work environment.
