Job summary

A non-profit organization in Washington, DC is seeking a Residential Advisor to ensure a safe, supportive environment for Job Corps trainees. The role includes dormitory supervision, behavior management, and mentorship for students aged 16-24. Candidates should have a high school diploma and preferably two years' experience in a related field. The position offers an hourly rate of $19 for up to 29 hours per week and encompasses responsibilities that foster safety and discipline. This is an on-call position with diverse benefits.

Qualifications

• Prefer two years' experience in a related field such as counseling, education, social work, rehabilitation, or vocational guidance.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and supportive environment in dormitory supervision.
• Conduct dormitory operations as per center operating policies.
• Supervise students age 16-24 and maintain discipline and order in the dormitory.
• Ensure dormitory supervision 24 hours a day and adherence to rules.
• Maintain 100% accountability of residents and log significant events.
• Assist students in adjusting to Center life, acting as a mentor.
• Document student records according to relevant guidelines.
