Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in door installation or construction.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and familiarity with hand, electric and pneumatic tools.

Job description

Position Objective: The Door Technician is responsible for the installation of doors and related hardware. This role ensures installations are completed accurately, safely, and according to project specifications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Measure, fit, and install interior and exterior doors, frames, and hardware
  • Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and installation specifications
  • Ensure proper alignment, operation, and finishing of installed doors
  • Inspect completed work to verify quality, functionality, and code compliance
  • Coordinate workflow, schedules, and material needs with project management
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and job site organization
  • Follow company safety standards and job site policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED

  • Knowledge of construction processes; familiarity with hand, electric & pneumatic tools
Job Requirements
  • This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching; involves lifting and carrying materials up to 50 lbs., operating hand and power tools; working in environments with dust, noise, and changing conditions; and ability to perform repetitive tasks daily

A door installer handling RediFrame, Knockdown and Welded Frames with commercial closures with the following competencies:

  • Installation: Ability to sleeve, square, and anchor pre-finished steel frames post-drywall without damaging pre-painted factory finishes. Mastery of snapping on steel/aluminum casing or utilizing wood casing fasteners.
  • Door Closures & Hardware: Expertise in installing, adjusting, and troubleshooting heavy-duty commercial surface closers, concealed overhead closures, and parallel arms.
  • Opening Adjustments: Correcting door sag, modifying latch alignment, and adjusting hydraulic sweep or latch speeds on door closers. Compression Adjustments.
  • Blueprint Literacy: Reading and executing project door and hardware schedules.
