Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Field Service Technician 1 in Marion, Ohio. Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of general construction or building material installation experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs consistently.
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to successfully clear an MVR check.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic field repairs, including hardware and glass replacements.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations to assess product performance.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain safety equipment.
  • Operate company vehicles safely and perform routine maintenance.
  • Manage tools and supplies inventory effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with customers.

Overview

Field Service Technician 1 is responsible for performing on-site repairs, inspections, and maintenance of building products while ensuring safety, quality, and excellent customer service. The role provides hands-on experience in field operations, process adherence, and customer interaction, with opportunities to develop technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and industry knowledge. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, and committed to delivering reliable service in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Field Repairs & Adjustments: Perform basic field repairs, including hardware and glass replacements, operational adjustments, and product inspections.
  • Product Evaluations & Inspections: Conduct on-site evaluations to assess product performance and identify repair needs.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of glass, working at heights, and use of PPE; maintain and inspect safety equipment and first aid kits.
  • Vehicle Operation & Maintenance: Operate company vehicles safely, adhere to local laws, and perform routine maintenance to ensure reliability.
  • Inventory Management: Manage tools and supplies inventory to maintain proper stock and organization.
  • Customer Service & Communication: Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair issues and solutions, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.
  • Travel: Travel within assigned territory daily; overnight travel may be required depending on territory.
