Job summary

The Door & Window Service Technician at Hingham Lumber Company installs, services, repairs, and troubleshoots doors, windows, and related millwork products. You’ll work directly with customers in homes and businesses, diagnose issues, communicate solutions clearly, and maintain current product knowledge through vendor training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in installation, repair, service, or skilled trades.
• Experience servicing or repairing doors, windows, sashes, and related hardware.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Ability to read installation instructions and technical materials.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record in good standing.
• DOT medical card, if required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, adjust, and troubleshoot doors, windows, sashes, hardware, and related products.
• Diagnose issues affecting operation and determine the appropriate solution.
• Inspect and test products and installations for safety and quality.
• Communicate complex repairs or product issues to the supervisor and obtain info as needed.
• Attend vendor and outside training to maintain current product knowledge.
• Provide professional, courteous customer service in homes, businesses and at Hingham Lumber Company.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and proper company property.
• Complete accurate service notes documenting issues and follow-up.
