Job summary

Vortex Doors is seeking Service Technicians to install, repair, and maintain a variety of commercial doors and related hardware. The role welcomes applicants with door experience or those starting with no experience, emphasizing attention to detail and a strong mechanical aptitude.

You will diagnose issues, handle hardware installations, ensure safety compliance, and provide exceptional customer service while documenting service visits and repairs for records and reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years’ experience in the commercial door service industry is a plus.
• Knowledge of various door types, brands, and hardware is a plus.
• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in reading a tape measure and performing precise measurements.

Responsibilities

• Door Installation: Install and repair a variety of commercial doors using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Repairs and Maintenance: Diagnose and repair door-related issues, such as springs, hinges, locks, and electrical components.
• Hardware Installation: Install and configure door hardware, such as locks, handles, closers, and access control systems.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure doors meet safety and building code regulations and standards.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and offering solutions.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, and installations.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with doors and communicate cost-effective solutions.
• Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks on installations and repairs to meet company standards.
