nextSource manages recruitment programs for major universities. We have immediate needs for door attendants in upper Manhattan for three-month assignments. A HS diploma, GED, or higher required.

Position Summary:

A Door Attendant is a position in the Facilities Department providing high quality and effective work to the residential buildings and are responsible for building safety.

Responsibilities:

• The Door Attendant will announce visitors and assure building security.


• Candidate must screen persons entering the building, announce visitors and assure building security.


• Lobby must be kept clean and neat at all times.


• All incoming and outgoing packages will be handled by this employee.


• May be required to perform maintenance duties such as cleaning lobby and other building areas and sidewalks.


• May be required to collect trash and place trash out for pickup.


• May be required to remove snow and spread salt.


• Neat appearance and excellent command of the English language is extremely important.


• Must be able to make intelligent decisions should the occasion arise.


• Must be able to perform duties as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma and/or its equivalent required.


• Knowledge of buildings and grounds maintenance a plus.


• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Must Have Open Availability:

Must be available to work from 4:00pm - 12:00am and on the weekends. The hours could also be 3:00pm -11:00pm or 12:00am – 8:00am.

The schedules are usually Wednesday – Sunday, Thursday – Monday, Friday – Tuesday, etc.

• Days: 5 days a week


• Schedule: up to 8-hour shift


• Contract duration: 3 months
